Dr. Thomas Zgonis, ambassador of our group

We are pleased to announce that our team, Sirenes Grevena, will continue to have the invaluable support and presence of Dr. Thomas Zgonis as our ambassador abroad. Dr. Zgonis is an internationally renowned Surgeon with expertise in the reconstruction of the diabetic foot and ankle, including Charcot foot, amputation prevention, and deformity correction using circular external fixation. He is a pioneer in the application of the Ilizarov device and has trained numerous doctors and surgeons worldwide, while also publishing extensively in scientific journals and authoring several medical textbooks.

Dr. Zgonis also has a long-standing passion for soccer, which began in his childhood in Grevena and led to significant achievements at the collegiate level in the United States. He has distinguished himself as an athlete with remarkable accomplishments and continues to contribute to the sport as a coach for elite youth soccer players, holding the USSF National D coaching license.

Our team is proud to collaborate with such a successful and talented professional, whose dedication and love for the sport serve as an inspiration to our community.
